Butyl AcetateButyl acetate causes dizziness and drowsiness and causes skin to become extremely dry and even crack. Also it withholds effects on embryo-fetal development. A recent study showed that exposure to butyl acetate in high concentrated amounts in mothers developed weight loss in the fetus and skeletal problems.
Acetyl Tributyl Citrate
Acetyl tributyl citrate is FDA approved as an indirect food additive used in adhesives and for polymer coatings to form film as well as skin conditioning agents like lotion. It can be found in eye makeup and most nail care products. It is relatively safe and doesn't pose much of a health concern.
Benzophenone-1
Benzophenone-1 is used in beauty products such as sunscreen because it has the ability to reflect and absorb UV rays and protects skin. Alone it can irritate skin and eyes but when used in beauty products it is relatively safe. It is used in nail polish and other varnishes.
Trimethyl pentanediol Dibenzoate
Trimethyl pentanediol dibenzoate is used as a plasticizer in nail polish.

Ethyl AcetateHigh exposure of Ethyl acetate can cause irritation in your eyes, respiratory tract and skin. Many complications can arise including headaches, nausea, blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue and central nervous system depression. When ingested it can cause gastrointestinal complications and it can irritate the skin and eyes when it comes in contact with them. In addition to all of these side effects it is also extremely flammable.
Isopropyl Alcohol
Isopropyl alcohol is a relatively new ingredient in nail polish. It was used as a replacement to the formerly used formaldehyde which was way more dangerous and toxic. It is commonly known as rubbing alcohol. It used to be used to clean cuts and scrapes but isn't as common as before as potentially dangerous effects have been observed. Firstly it is highly combustible in the presence of heat, secondly it is toxic when ingested, and thirdly it has been noted to have some systemic effects when absorbed into the blood stream.
Silica
Silica has many suspected dangers including gastrointestinal, liver, respiratory and kidney toxicity. It is used in nail polish to aid in forming the film over your nails.
